Wario is a rollable game husbando primarily in the Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 series in Mudae. He is the polar opposite of Mario; a greedy, rude and sometimes villainous person. Wario was originally envisioned as a rival for Mario that performed mischievous misdeeds. Over time, Wario developed into an anti-hero, and frequently worked alongside the Mario Bros. He has also gotten two of his own series, the WarioWare series, and the Wario Land series, both of which follow his misadventures as he attempts to make a fortune through either a game manufacturing empire, or plundering ancient treasure. Wario is also good friends with Waluigi, one of the few people in the Mario universe who are just as greedy as he is.
