Rintarou Okabe (nicknamed Okarin) is the main protagonist of Steins;Gate. He calls himself a mad scientist with a very strong and eccentric personality. He is the founder of Future Gadget Laboratory and gives himself the title of Lab Member 001, since he was the first to technically join.
