Pictures are used for each character in Mudae. They are submitted on Mudae World using the bot Muda-02.
Images appear when you $im the character, and can be shuffled between by using the left and right buttons at the bottom of the image.
You can view all images in your DMs by using the command $ims <character>. You can set a new image by using the command $changeimg ($c).
To add custom images, use $ai; to allow others in your server to add custom images for their own characters, use $setpermission addimg charowner. Custom images are not subject to any of the rules listed here; these rules only apply to the official pictures for each character.
During your rolls, you can change which images appear for you using $randomimg. This also lets you control the appearance of whether gifs and custom images appear during your rolls. You can turn off linked images in embeds in Discord settings.
Hosting[]
Mudae's images are typically hosted on one of two sites: Imgur or Mudae.net. Images are always uploaded and submitted via Imgur; however, most static (non-gif) images that are added to the bot will eventually be added to Mudae.net, Mudae's private hosting websites.
When images are hosted on Imgur, submitters ultimately have control over the image, and may choose to delete the image from their account at a later date. Multiple occurrences of submitters deleting all the content from their account led to images disappearing from the bot. This influenced the decision to host images on a private website instead.
Images hosted on Mudae.net have the last 6-7 digits of their url in common with their corresponding Imgur upload, allowing players to find the original Imgur upload if it is still up.
Custom images are always hosted on Imgur.
Image rules[]
Primary rules[]
- 225*350 sized.[1]
- No fanart.[1] (See below for more information)
- The following are not allowed:[1]
- Black & white images unless it's a series concept/intentional choice
- Distortion/stretching
- Transparent backgrounds
- Integrated text
- Real life images
- Major plot spoilers
- Nudity
- Sexual positions
- Any kind of lewd on characters who are or appear below 18 (swimsuit that doesn't fit, lewd position...)
- Bikini pics for children-looking characters.
- Edits are only allowed for backgrounds and quality improvements (with the exception of meme cartoons, where edits are less strict)[1]
- Fan colorations are allowed, only if they aren't redraws.[1]
Imgur[]
- All your suggests must be hosted on https://imgur.com/upload (post the image, not the album).[1] As an alternative, imgchest may also be used.
- Don't remove your pics from imgur or imgchest.
- Pics successfully added belong to the database of Mudae: you can't remove or use them without asking for permission.[1]
Integrated text[]
Text in the fashion of speech bubbles and other forms of talking are not allowed. Text is only allowed when environmental (ex. on a sign, chalkboard, sound effect text, etc.).[2]
Inappropriate Images[]
- No nudity of any kind. Images may be cropped to exclude visible nudity. Here are example images as well as a rule of thumb: Roughly less than 50% of breast. If your crop is nearing or touching nipple you've included too far. https://i.imgur.com/3jDUpkJ.png
- This includes examples such as the following: Convenient censoring, bathing, clothes falling off, undressing, etc.
- Open shirts with no bra can be allowed as long as they're not over-exposed (particularly revealing angle, shirt that's basically off or too far open, etc.), or appear secured to the body such as in skin tight outfits.
- Visible nipples or areola through clothing (or otherwise) are also not allowed. The shape of a nipple bulging is fine, unless heavily detailed
- Visible vagina/crotch lines through underwear are also not acceptable
- If a male appears to be too feminine, or seen as more of a girl than a boy, they may not have pictures that include nipples
- No lolis in bikinis or other inappropriate attire (revealing lingerie, etc.)
- No mysterious, suggestive fluids
- No groping or fondling of breasts
- No implied lewd acts (GIF of a girl seemingly in the act, very implicit sexual position + expression, etc.)[2]
- Any crotch bulges should not feature discernable genitalia (penis/testicle outline) and should not be gratuitously large
Spoilers[]
No massive spoiler images such as character death. Well known spoilers (such as Ultimate Madoka, Golden Experience Requiem) are still permitted.[2]
Borders[]
- Borders are better, you can use this layer: https://imgur.com/SmPDLNF [1]
- When using a border, it can't be bigger than 1px.[1]
- Rainbow 2px borders and other meme borders have been banned only on main images since new players get confused by them.[2]
Fanart[]
Memes[]
Some series from the Memes bundle are allowed to contain fanart, but you must source the artist of the image. In such a case, you must name the artist by adding this line in the same message of your suggest: "Art: <Artist name>".[1]

Vtubers[]
Vtubers are allowed to use fanart as long as the submission meets at least one of the following conditions:[2]
- Art is drawn by the vtuber themselves, their character designer or illustrator, a character designer/illustrator belonging to their same group, or from a member of their group.
- If the art is commissioned by the vtuber themselves (e.g Skeb) or if a different member from their group commissions it.
- If the art is commissioned and gifted by a known friend of the vtuber.
- Be used in an official context by the vtuber in question.
- The following can be considered to be used in an official context: art used as a thumbnail, banner, social media avatar, or stream schedule.
- Vtubers retweeting fanart or doing an in-stream showcase of the fanart in question is not considered to be official.
Certain vtuber content may be applicable for the general permitted fanart usages bot-wise (for example, official contest winning entries from contests held by Pixiv).
Other unofficial art[]
For series with multiple artists, unofficial art made by them is fine as long as the artist is a recurring artist (hired/commissioned to create artwork regularly). This excludes the following series:
- Fate Grand/Order: major character designer's art can be used for any char, otherwise it's the illustrator's respective character/s only [3]
- Azur Lane: illustrator's respective character/s only
- Tokyo Afterschool Summoners: illustrator's respective character/s, or illustrator that drew AR of the character and has illustrated other characters as well [4]
- Touhou: Artists should be one of the following:
- official game + manga + artbook artists (no anthologies/magazines)
- character artists for Touhou Danmaku Kagura (mitama card/song card artists can only have in-game content added)
- in-game art/cards from Touhou LostWord (alt versions of existing characters not allowed)
- If your game is a popular gacha game, I suggest following Azur Lane ruleset, unless you want it to be fanart loophole hell.
Gifs[]
Gifs follow the same rules as other pictures, along with the additional rules:[1]
- No highly flashy or eye-straining gifs.
- You can't swap a regular image for a gif.
- Gifs are allowed to have subtitles.
GIFs are preferred to be less than 10 MB, but are allowed up to 15 MB. They may not exceed 15 MB.[2]
Additional unofficial rules and guidelines[]
- Real people wearing costumes are allowed as long as the costumes don't show their face. (Example: Barney, Daft Punk)
- Extreme CGI in live action media is allowed (example: Dobby), unless it looks too close to a real life human.
- Photos of real life figurines or merchandise are not allowed.
Exceptions[]
- Bongo Cat can have more than 10 gifs
- Robbie Rotten can have IRL images
- Sun Baby is also an exception to the IRL rule.
- Some SCP characters can have IRL images
