An instance is the same as a new server in your server: you can make a fresh start of Mudae without creating another server or erasing your current data.

Regular servers can only create one instance (for a total of 2 with the default instance) and this instance can only be set in mode 2. Servers with Server Premium 2 can create up to 3 instances (for a total of 4), set in any mode.

Creation[]

To start a second instance, just type $channelinstance 2 in the channel(s) you'd like to use for the next instance. After that, everything in those channels will be new (characters, kakera, and keys).

When creating an instance, your current server settings are transferred, but you can change whatever you want afterwards.

Server Premium affects all the instances of a server.

As of mid-2022, starting a new instance counts as a new server for the purposes of copy commands such as $haremcopy, $kakeracopy, and $soulcopy.

Accessing[]

Instances

Looking at $top from the first and second instance.

Any channel in a server where $channelinstance 2 has been done will be in Instance 2, and this will reflect when you use $im, $mm, or other lookup commands.

You can view information from another instance, even an instance that hasn't been "created." This can be done by adding the instance number to the end of the command: for example, $im.2 to view a character in another instance, or $mm serv <serverid>.2 to view characters from another instance in another server. A server ID is a string of numbers, and you can get it by using $myid in the server.

This is also the case for using a copy command to copy from another instance. Say you want to $haremcopy from the second instance of Server A to a new server, Server B. You can use $haremcopy <serverid>.2 to make sure it copies from the second instance.

Notes[]

  • You can look at unused instances to view the "default" settings of Mudae; for example, how much kakera characters are worth without any characters claimed or keys. For example, if you have never played in Instance 4, you can do $topk=.4 to see the default kakera value for top characters.
  • Commands like $togglehentai and $toggledisturbing can be used in just one instance, preventing players from rolling or viewing certain cards. However, players can still view cards by accessing the version of the card from another instance.

Change History[]

Date Update
April 29, 2020 Channel instances were released.
Before May 20, 2022 $haremcopy and $kakeracopy can now be used to copy to a newly-started instance, even if the server itself had already had Mudae for over 30 days.
