Bataan is a character in Azur Lane and a light aircraft carrier from Eagle Union. She is the sister of Independence. Her real life counterpart is USS Bataan, formally called USS Buffalo. She was available as a points reward during the event Ashen Simulacrum.
As a playable character, she is overly shy and a bit afraid of little things. Even her default chibi animation features her being afraid of a Manjuu, a little bird inserted in the game looking like a chick as a wordmark of the company Manjuu Co. Ltd, one of the game's developers. She also takes care of her planes and knows their names by heart.
