Aliases are alternate names of characters in Mudae. They are submitted on Mudae World using the bot Muda-02.

Aliases appear when you $im the character and are located beneath the ranking information. A (+5) or any other number will appear if a character has more than one alias.

You can view all aliases by using the command $alist <character> (or $al), and set a new alias with $alias <alias name> (or $a). You can have spoiler aliases sent to you in a DM by using $alspoil.

Alias rules[]

Primary rules[]

  • Aliases must be official, and an official source must be provided.[1]
  • A description is not an alias.[1]
  • A title that could describe a large variety of characters (Princess, Idiot...) is not an alias.[1]
  • Insults are allowed as long as they are relevant to the character.[2]

These are general rules which may not apply for a few characters if it's largely justified. However, it's case by case.

First or Last Name Only[]

  • Just first name and just last name are not allowed without a good reason. This is case by case. (ex. Cartman from South Park)[3]
    • In practice, first name or last name are allowed if they are "titular". (ex. Arthur Read can have the alias Arthur because that's what the show is called.) This reasoning was accepted until March 7, 2022.
    • In practice, just first name is allowed if their last name is obscure trivia. (ex. when the last name was not included in the source media)

Honorifics[]

  • Adding an honorific (-san, -chan) to the name is not an alias.[1]
  • Honorifics (such as -chan, -kun, etc.) are not allowed unless it appears in the title of their series or it's attached to a modified name.[3][2]

Language[]

  • Suggestions for aliases have to be either English or the language of the country of origin of the show.[3][2]
  • Names should be in western order (first name, then family name).[4]
    • This rule is generally not enforced for non-Japanese languages.
  • If a character's name is eastern order in their country of origin, then eastern order aliases are allowed. Characters without confirmed western order cannot be given western aliases. (ex. One Piece and Hunter x Hunter)[2]

Media-specific[]

  • Marvel/DC characters are allowed to have their civilian names as aliases (ex. Spider-Man (Peter Parker) can have the alias Peter Parker)[3]
  • Jugem Jugem's full name is longer than 250 characters and cannot be added.[2]

Additional unofficial rules and guidelines[]

  • If an alias starts with "you", it's generally not allowed.
  • Many misleading aliases are not allowed (ex. name of a celebrity that isn't in the bot).
  • Fan aliases are allowed only to differentiate between two characters with the same name in the same series.
